Timetable: We would be very grateful if you could all send us a very short (200 word approx.) abstract of your presentation in the next three weeks, ideally before October 16th. Workshop papers or drafts and power point presentations should be sent us by November 22nd. This would help the discussants to review the presentations. Abstracts should be submitted as single MS Word DOC files as an e-mail attachment to the following e-mail address:
Presentations: The maximum time for oral session presentations is 20 min. Equipment for Power Point presentations is available at our workshop rooms. Note that all presentations are being recorded and filed for educational use.
Key note presentation: The maximum time for key note presentation is 60 minutes. Equipment for Power Point presentations is available at our workshop rooms. Note that some of our students might be there listening the presentation. There will be time for questions and discussion after the presentation.
Discussants: In order to foster lively discussion and feedback, we have invited you to participate in a formal discussion as discussants. The maximum time for feedback is 10 min. per one presentation. Thus, if you have two presentations to review, the maximum time is 20 min. After the discussants’ feedback, the floor is open for questions. You can find more information on the workshop program.
Overall Expenses: We will reimburse you for the accommodation and travel expenses incurred travelling from your place of residence to Jyväskylä and back. For more details, see the more detailed conditions listed under accommodation and travel expenses.
Travel Expenses: Note that we will cover your travel expenses only in the economy class. As for our Finnish participants, we will cover only train ticket expenses (in the second class). Those who arrive in Jyvaskyla by airplane, take an airport taxi to the hotel (Airport-Taxi, +358 100 6900, order two hours in advance). Those who arrive by train, the hotel is opposite the railway station.
Accommodation: We have reserved single rooms for the workshop participants at the Sokos Hotel Alexandra from December 2nd to the 4th. Thus you do not need to take any action regarding accommodation. For those who arrive from the USA or Japan we have made bookings from December 1st to the 5th. (Note that if you have already made hotel reservation according to the old instructions, it is ok.) Meals: We will offer you daily lunches, meals, as well as drinks at the Welcome Reception on December 2nd, and a workshop dinner at the Restaurant Vesilinna on December 3rd. The hotel accommodation includes breakfasts.
